Child’s Farm

Overall Rating: 3 Stars

About Child’s Farm:

“Mum of two Joanna Jensen searched for the ultimate natural or organic products to deal with her girls fine hair. When it proved that this product did not exist, Joanna set out on a mission to make a range of toiletries that are fun and appealing to kids and parents on the outside,  but filled with formulations that Mums can trust and combs can cope with! Childs Farm, with the help of children’s illustrator Emma McCall and respected manufacturer Medichem International,  was born.

With wonderful whiffs of strawberry and organic mint, zesty organic tangerine and delicious sweet orange,  these delightful products will ensure that little ones are squeaky clean. Childs Farm will whisk you and your child away to the clean and healthy surroundings that is our wonderful British countryside. Our products are made, squeezed, cut out and stuck together in the Great Britain.

The imaginative and eye catching package imagery depicts real animals and ponies that live on Childs Farm, Joanna’s beautiful home and small holding in rural Hampshire.

We don’t use the by-line ‘as natural as your countryside’ for nothing ? Childs Farm products contain zero nasties. Children deserve products that are mild and gentle which we most certainly ARE, not harsh and abrasive ones. Young skin and hair deserves the respect of a researched product on them – all our products contain certified organic essential oils. Our products DO NOT HAVE Parabens, SLS’, Mineral oils or artificial color.

All Childs Farm products undergo clinical testing and user trials so that all our products are so mild, kind and safe for skin that they are suitable for sensitive eczema prone skin, and even newborns. Our bubble bath soothes and moisturises young skin, and smells fab too!

My Thoughts:

If I were to judge these products based solely on how they performed and how they smelt, I would give them my highest rating. Each of them smells very fresh and pungent–in a good way. The hair & body wash and the shampoo and bubble bath suds up nicely and provide a gentle yet effective clean. The conditioner is the best of the three–it doessmel a great job at detangling and smells like ripe strawberries.

I was a little bit misled by the front of the bottles reading “organic” next to the scent of each, respectively. I figured there would be mostly, if not all, organic ingredients in these products.

After looking at the ingredient lists, it appears that only 1 ingredient in each product is organic. That was a little bit discouraging. On our girl’s young, precious, beautiful skin, we like to use the very best (all-organic) as much as possible. For a brand that is specifically catered to children, I suppose I expected a little bit more in regards to organic ingredients.

I do appreciate that no parabens and other common irritants are used. But, my standards are very high for skin care–especially when it comes to our girl. I’ve tried and fallen in love with several brands that use all-organic ingredients, thus, this brand falls a bit short.

I wish the I could rate the ingredients as high as I did the performance and smell of these products. Since I can’t, I have to give Child’s Farm only an above average rating.
