Floridian Body Oil

Terra Dolce’s Description:

Use after the shower to lock in moisture, in your bath to relax, or simply massage on to heal dry skin. Experience it for yourself.

INGREDIENTS: made with natural oil blend & essential oil blends fresh from Florida.

HISTORY OF THE ORANGE: Christopher Columbus is credited with bringing the first citrus fruits to Florida during his first voyage. A few decades later in 1513, the Spanish explorer Ponce de Leon planted the first orange groves in Florida. The orange was immediately embraced by the local population who continued to cultivate the tropical fruit for centuries before the citrus industry was born. It’s no surprise that the orange is Florida’s state fruit. The surprise is that it was not named so until 2005.  Symbolic of luxury, growth, and health, oranges suit Florida both culturally and agriculturally. Rich in vitamin C, the orange fruit is the true Fountain of Youth that so many explorers and settlers lusted after. ”

My Description & Thoughts on the Oil & Scrub:

If you are well acquainted with my blog, then you are aware that I have reviewed a lot of products since creating this blog two years ago. This post is an important one because it is, without question, in my top 3 favorite skin care brands (ever!).

I am so excited about these products for two main reasons:

1. They are created in my home state of Florida, showcasing fresh oranges.

2. They contain certified organic ingredients–what I strive for!

I have become much more of a fan of body OIL versus body LOTION because I find that it is often much more pure–no fillers, nothing added for texture. It’s just rich, pure nourishment for your skin. My routine with this body oil has been: after showering (and before toweling off), slathering on a dime-sized amount of oil to each limb and then the rest of my body. Applying the oil with the drops of shower water still on your skin helps the oil spread easier and it makes it go farther. You’ll find that if you apply body oil to dry skin, it won’t absorb it as readily and it will take a lot more oil to cover your body. This Floridian body oil leaves the most unreal, fresh, zesty, orangey scent on my skin. It reminds me of taking a deep breath of Florida air. On a side note, I’ve also found that most body oils are perfect to use at the very end of your hair when your locks need a moisture boost. You only need the tiniest bit of oil rubbed in between your hands (1-2 tiny drops). Use your fingers to press and comb it through the ends of your hair. I can always tell an immediate difference in how it wakes up my dry ends.

The body scrub has been such a treat to have in my shower. I make it a routine to loofah my body 1 or 2 times a week. However, since having this body scrub, I’ve substituted my loofah for this little jar of orange goodness. Not only does it provide just the right amount of scrubby-friction on your skin, but the oil that the scrub leaves behind allows you to skip the post-shower body oil or lotion. Like the body oil, this scrub smells incredible. You can truly smell how fresh the orange aroma is.

I would recommend these Terra Dolce products the very most to anyone you know that has a passion for Florida (because I believe it will be EXTRA special to them). That said, I also recommend these to everyone else! :) The ingredients are high quality, there is obviously a lot of passion put into creating them, and they make showering and bathing a full-on spa experience. Go Floridian!
